Foundations
A six-year gender-transformative programme supporting adolescent girls to exercise their sexual and reproductive health rights, evaluated through a longitudinal study.
Foundations is a six-year multi-country gender-transformative project that aims to enhance the empowerment of adolescent girls in Sierra Leone, Mali and Niger to exercise their adolescent sexual and reproductive health rights.
IfD works with ODI on the monitoring and evaluation of the programme through a longitudinal study, following participants over the life of the intervention rather than assessing it only at endline.
ODI is the lead research partner, and IfD is its qualitative research partner in Sierra Leone. Save the Children implements the programme in Sierra Leone. The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) leads the quantitative work: an interrupted time series analysis of adolescent services, for which IfD built the facility dataset in Kailahun District.
