Beyond Borders.
A webinar series equipping aspiring Sierra Leonean scholars with the practical knowledge to win scholarships abroad, delivered primarily in Krio with English subtitles and published scripts.
What the series covers
General scholarship information
What is out there, who funds it, and who is eligible.
The application process
Deadlines, references, personal statements and what selectors look for.
Finances
What a scholarship actually covers, and what it does not.
Logistics
Visas, travel, arrival and settling in.
Who appears
The series features Sierra Leoneans who have studied, or are currently studying, abroad on scholarships. The point is not abstract advice but specific accounts: which scholarship, which application, what worked.
Episodes are delivered primarily in Krio, with English subtitles and published scripts. Scholarship guidance is almost always written for people who already read academic English, which excludes many of the students most likely to benefit from it.
