Platforms.

Alongside commissioned research, IfD builds software: the public platforms in the menu above, and the systems the institute runs on day to day.

Our in-house applications

Our Data Innovation team also builds the software the institute runs on day to day. It is why we can offer to build a platform for someone else rather than only recommending that they should. These are internal systems, not public products.

Bid pipelineSabi Grant Writer

Manages the grant and proposal pipeline end to end: a Kanban board of opportunities, AI-assisted screening of incoming calls, and a shared knowledge base the whole team draws on.

Drafting happens inside the platform, against each funder’s own required template.

Project dashboardIfD Hub

Portfolio-wide visibility of delivery status for management, with a two-step task completion and approval workflow.

It speaks in M&E status vocabulary rather than generic project-management labels, so a research lead reads it without translation.

Time recordingIfD Worksheet

Multi-user work logging: staff record time against projects using a centrally managed taxonomy, so the categories stay consistent across the institute.

Automated daily reminders, cross-filtering, and an audit trail on every administrative edit.

Staff portalIfD Onboarding

An invite-only portal taking new staff through safeguarding, duty of care, anti-bribery, anti-slavery, diversity and inclusion, and GDPR.

Each module carries a quiz, and a certificate is issued on completion.

Need a platform of your own?

We build public-good tools as well as running research. If your programme needs one, that is a conversation we want to have.
