How we handle your information.

What we collect when you contact us, what we do with it, and what we never do.

What we collect

If you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, organisation if you give one, the type of enquiry, and your message. That is all. We use it only to answer you.

What we do not do

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, so we can tell what is useful. It sets cookies only if you accept them in the notice that appears on your first visit. If you decline, or until you choose, no analytics cookie is stored and Google receives only anonymous signals without identifiers. Advertising features are switched off. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.

The map on the contact page

The contact page embeds a Google map so visitors can find the Freetown office. It loads only when you scroll to it, and when it loads Google may set cookies and see your IP address, as it would on any site carrying one of its maps. Apart from Google Analytics, described above, nothing else on this site loads from a third party, and the enquiry form works normally if you block the map.

Research participant data

Data collected during our research studies is governed separately, under the ethical clearance and data management plan for each study, not by this notice. If you took part in an IfD study and have a question about your data, contact us and we will direct you to the right study team.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write toinfo@ifdsl.org.
